I am a Gammill Statler newbie (and have been for the last several years).  Every time I'd finally get back to it, I had to relearn the basics, scouring a variety of sources for the answers to my questions.  I started assembling "cliff notes" for each topic and finally decided to share them in case they are helpful to others.
